The Young Artist Just Released His New Album ‘Genesis,’ Consisting Of 21 Power-Loaded Tracks
ROCHESTER, NY - At only 16 years old, the young rapper Slump6s has already made a name for himself thanks to pushing hip hop’s limits even further. Perhaps opening the gates to the industry’s new era and roster. However, the main thing that stands out is his voice usage. As stated on his Republic Records page -the record label he’s currently signed with- “rather than gliding atop beats [...] his vocals entangle with the production, moving in calculated harmonic bursts of emotion”. In simpler terms, Slump6s stated:
"I use my voice as an instrument."
As to his beginnings in the industry, his father used to own a studio. When Slump6s was barely 6 years old, he already sang over pop beats (especially MJ’s) and recorded himself. But that’s not all. He also participated in his school band and learned clarinet, trombone, trumpet, and drums. Giving him a broad and deep understanding of how to combine, master, and express sound. And this has clearly paid off later in life. After making a dent in the audience in 2020 with ‘Spark,’ he has amassed millions of Spotify streams and nearly 200 thousand monthly regular listeners.
Regarding ‘Genesis,’ his latest album, the young artist was asked if he focuses first on the beat, the lyrics, or what is the first step in creating his unique and innovative tracks. Slump6s stated that he always focuses first on the beat and then piles up lyrics and emotion to create the right vibe for each song. In the very same interview, he also explained what kind of message is sent through his music and what the audience gets from it:
“I want people to take away from my music that there is nobody that can tell you you can’t do something. That’s the main message. When you put your mind 100% into some goal, and you succeed, people realize that this statement really applies.” added Slump6s.
