Born a true 90’s baby in Chicago, Illinois, Rell G derives his stage name from his first name, Darrell and the town he spent part of his childhood in, Gary, Indiana. His love of hip hop began at a young age, having grown up listening to artists ranging from Tupac, Biggie, and 50 Cent to Kendrick Lamar, Lil Wayne and Halsey. “It’s more than culture—hip hop is where I’m from.” Not only is he hard working, but his passion and determination to create relatable music is unmatched.
Like most people who love music, Rell G finds a positive outlet in creating music that people can relate to. Because of his past experiences, he gives everything he has to his music, working hard every day to make his name known. His ultimate goal is to be heard and influence others through his lyrics. “Music helps me get through whatever I’m going through and I want my fans to feel the same way when they hear my music.” Currently, Rell G has a couple music videos to his singles, "Mango" and "From me to You" as well as 2 EP’s out, Crystal Lake and March Madness.
